Students can be picked up at home, or at school, or another location of their choosing. This registration is to sign up for Behind the Wheel training & receive the Blue Card. Student must have completed the 30 hour classroom portion and have received a copy of the Certificate of Completion before they can register for Behind the Wheel (Certificate of Completion must be provided (uploaded) when signing up). 1. Student has completed 30 hour classroom instruction and received Certificate of Completion 2. Please go online or stop by the Community Education office (open 9-4, Monday - Thursday) to sign up for Behind the Wheel with Mille Lacs Driving School. 3. Please bring in a copy of the Certificate of Completion when registering with Community Ed. 4. Once the student is signed up, Mille Lacs Driving School will contact the student to set up the contract, receive payment and issue the blue card. 5. Take written permit exam at an exam location (must present Blue Card, 2 forms of ID ... typically Certified Copy of Birth Certificate and Social Security Card). The permit exam is $10. Mille Lacs Driving School offers the permit test in Brainerd (Mille Lacs Driving Permit Test Schedule) 6. Go to the DMV to get your Driving Permit, you must bring 2 forms of ID (see above), Blue Card and proof of passing the knowledge permit test. Fee: $29.50 7. Line up Behind the Wheel training with Mille Lacs Driving School (6 hours). It is suggested that students have at least 15 hours of driving with parent before scheduling the first session of Behind the Wheel.Fall 2024

Patriot TutoringEnrichmentPequot Lakes Community Education offers year-round tutoring for students who need homework help or support building their academic skills. Tutoring can help students build confidence, motivation, knowledge, achievement, and excellence. Our program strives to support students' understanding of core subject areas, as well as improve on study habits. This private tutoring will accommodate individual learning styles, create a supportive learning environment, and move at your child's pace. The one-on-one attention will keep your child excited about learning! Tutors use a variety of learning strategies that boost each child's potential to succeed. Each tutor has a passion for learning and a deep understanding of how to build trust in a one-on-one relationship. Tutoring is scheduled based on the needs of the child and the availability of the parent/child and tutor. All tutoring takes place within district buildings. Each tutoring session is 60 minutes in length. Tutoring can be purchased in a variety of sessions, ranging from 1 time to 4 times. There is no limit on how many times a student can register. Upon registration, your child will be paired with a tutor. The tutor will be given your information to set up the tutoring days and times. If a child needs to miss a scheduled session, the tutor must be notified in advance so the session can be rescheduled.Fall 2024

PopularSnowmobile Safety (Ages 12 & Up)EnrichmentSnowmobile Safety (Ages 12 & Up) Join the Pequot Brush Pilots for the MN Department of Resources approved Snowmobile Safety. Participants must attend all classes and test on the final date. In addition to the class fee, there will be a $5.00 certification fee paid directly to the DNR after completion of the course and passing the test. Students cannot miss any classes. No make up dates available. Those students who have taken the online class and need to field test only are REQUIRED to attend the Friday, December 6 class (3:30 - 5:30 PM) in person. If they do not attend in-person, they cannot attend the field test day on Saturday. The field test date is Saturday, December 7; the instructors will schedule times with the students. Students must be turning 12 years old within 3 months of the last class date.Fall 2024

Speech 6th GradeEnrichmentSpeech is a fun opportunity for students to develop communication skills, critical thinking and social emotional learning. Participants will gain knowledge in: Communication principles Public speaking Group discussions Role-playing Interpersonal communication Non-verbal communication All of these will play important roles in your life. Practices will be at a minimum one day per week; the schedule will be based on student availability. There will likely be 5 meets (including a home meet) that students will attend. Meets typically start around 3:30/4 PM. Transportation will be provided from PLHS to meet location and back. (Meet schedule will be provided by the coach once everything is confirmed).
