3D Printing Star Wars (Grades 2 - 5) Live Online Students will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD (an online web app) and use the 3D slicing program Cura to bring their creations to life. We will be designing a droid. The 3D Model will be printed and mailed home. Home Technical Requirements: Computer: PC (Windows 10 or later) or Mac (OSX) with at least a 2GHz processor and 4GB of RAM Chromebooks, Tablets, and phones DO NOT Work. Internet: Broadband internet Webcam, Microphone and Speakers Zoom Installed on Computer, zoom link will be sent before class. Students should be comfortable using a PC, mouse, and keyboard.

The ACT Prep Course is designed to prepare students to take the ACT by equipping them with skills and test-taking strategies to improve their score. The class will cover content and strategies for English, Math, Reading, Science, and the optional essay. This course has a proven track record of helping students raise their scores. Class will be held during the school day - this is an excused absence from class.

BMX Experience! (Ages 2 & Up) Join other youth riders and dive into the exciting world of BMX bike racing! In this action-packed class, participants will learn the fundamentals of BMX racing, including bike types, BMX terminology, race course setup, and safety practices. Riders will get hands-on experience with instruction tailored to all skill levels, whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your riding skills. Riders will be split by age group: 2 - 5 & 5 +. By the end of the class, riders will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to race! Bring your own bike & helmet if you have them, the facility does have bikes (both BMX & Strider style) along with helmets available for use.

This interactive babysitting class will teach students the basics of babysitting; child care for all ages, basic first aid, the importance of TLC, what to do in an emergency and fun activities to do with children. Students who complete the class will receive a babysitter guide along with a certificate of completion.

Community Education has partnered with Mille Lacs Driving School to offer Behind the Wheel instruction. Students can be picked up at home, or at school, or another location of their choosing. This registration is to sign up for Behind the Wheel training & receive the Blue Card. Student must have completed the 30 hour classroom portion and have received a copy of the Certificate of Completion before they can register for Behind the Wheel (Certificate of Completion must be provided (uploaded) when signing up). 1. Student has completed 30 hour classroom instruction and received Certificate of Completion 2. Please go online or stop by the Community Education office (open 9-4, Monday - Thursday) to sign up for Behind the Wheel with Mille Lacs Driving School. 3. Please bring in a copy of the Certificate of Completion when registering with Community Ed. 4. Once the student is signed up, Mille Lacs Driving School will contact the student to set up the contract, receive payment and issue the blue card. 5. Take written permit exam at an exam location (must present Blue Card, 2 forms of ID ... typically Certified Copy of Birth Certificate and Social Security Card). The permit exam is $10. Mille Lacs Driving School offers the permit test in Brainerd (Mille Lacs Driving Permit Test Schedule) 6. Go to the DMV to get your Driving Permit, you must bring 2 forms of ID (see above), Blue Card and proof of passing the knowledge permit test. Fee: $29.50 7. Practice driving with your student (it is recommended to have at least 15 hours of driving with a parent before scheduling your first session of Behind the Wheel). 8. Set up Behind the Wheel training with Mille Lacs Driving School (6 hours).

Cross Country Skiing (Grades 2 - 6) Beginners: Ski lessons for beginner cross country skiers, sponsored in part by the Brainerd Nordic Ski Club. Equipment provided or bring your own. This class will focus on skills and fundamentals of skiing on the trails around Eagle View Elementary Nature Center. Experienced: Prerequisite: Beginner lessons or approval from instructor This class will build on skills learned in the beginner class. We will ski on the trails around Eagle View Elementary Nature Center and other area ski trails (parent transportation to area trails is required) Dress in layered winter clothing with long, warm socks. Students must wear a hat and gloves or mittens. HOMESCHOOLER’S ONLY! ART, MUSIC, ATHLETICS, OH MY! (Ages 4 - 16) Come hang out with the crew of Team Ascension Martial Arts and enjoy 4 stations of art, music, martial arts, and gymnastics! Students will be separated by age. There will be fun activities for all ages!

Is your child going to be home alone for short periods of time? If so, this class is a must! Focus is on safety issues dealing with answering the phone and door, stranger safety, where to keep keys, emergency information, and basic first aid including choking, bleeding, burns and CPR. Students will come away with knowledge and a safety kit.

Homeschool Co-Op (Grades K - 12) Are you a homeschooling family looking for a place to enjoy instructor-led group art, music, martial arts, gymnastics, science, and Spanish? Students have flexible class options and can pick up to 3 three classes to attend, with the option of switching classes at the beginning of each new session. Each day will consist of (3) 30 minute classes, with a 30 minute lunch break. This is a great way to complement existing homeschool studies allowing students to share & create for themselves in a group setting all while sharing a love for learning! Intro to AI Coding Live Online (Grades 2 - 6) We will introduce kids to the fundamentals of coding and artificial intelligence through Scratch; a visual programming language designed for young learners. Campers engage in hands-on projects and collaborative activities that build foundational coding skills while exploring how AI works in fun and creative ways. Students must have access to a Computer (PC or Mac) with at least a 2GHz processor & 4 GB of RAM (Chromebook, tablet, phones do not work).
