BECOMING A DEATH DOULA Becoming a Death Doula is an introductory workshop designed for individuals who feel called to support others at the end of life. This educational session provides a foundational overview of the death doula role, training pathways, and the skills needed to offer compassionate, non-medical care to individuals and families during the dying process. Participants will explore: The history and philosophy of end-of-life doula work Scope of practice and ethical boundaries Emotional, spiritual, and practical support techniques Vigil planning and bedside presence Legacy projects and life review Communication with families and care teams Collaboration with hospice and community resources Self-care, boundaries, and burnout prevention Training and certification options Starting a doula practice or volunteer pathway This workshop is ideal for caregivers, healthcare workers, social workers, spiritual care providers, and community members who want to deepen their understanding of end-of-life care or explore becoming a death doula themselves.
