BMX Experience! (Ages 2 & Up) Join other youth riders and dive into the exciting world of BMX bike racing! In this action-packed class, participants will learn the fundamentals of BMX racing, including bike types, BMX terminology, race course setup, and safety practices. Riders will get hands-on experience with instruction tailored to all skill levels, whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your riding skills. Riders will be split by age group: 2 - 5 & 5 +. By the end of the class, riders will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to race! Bring your own bike & helmet if you have them, the facility does have bikes (both BMX & Strider style) along with helmets available for use.

Have you heard the buzz about pickleball, but are unsure how to play? Join us for a pickleball lesson where you will learn the basic rules, strategies, and strokes of the game. Plus, you’ll have plenty of time to test out new skills as you play your first game. All beginning pickleball players are welcome. Equipment provided, bring your own paddle if you have one!

Driver Discount Program 55+ This driver discount program is taught by a MN Hwy Safety Center trained instructor. This class will explore changes in laws, the latest vehicle technology, and provide you with easy-to-use defensive driving tips. Pre-registration is required (no walk-ins accepted). Participation in this class may provide for insurance discounts.

Horse Painting (Ages 4 & Up) Yes, you read that right! Your canvas is a real life horse! This is a fun activity to get creative on a large, living canvas. We’ll use non-toxic washable paints to create living works of art. The horses love the “grooming” (painting) while the humans create and experience the peace and enjoyment of spending time around these amazing animals. A fun activity for both kids and adults. Please wear closed toed shoes. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult (to help)

ONLINE YOUTH DRIVER’S EDUCATION (Ages 14 & Up) Pequot Lakes Community Education offers FULLY ONLINE CLASSES! Our fully online classroom curriculum was designed with the Minnesota student in mind and utilizes proven teaching methods that will keep the student engaged throughout the learning process. Key Benefits are: Start classes anytime and take all 30 hours at your own pace up to 3 hours per day Classes are available On-Demand and are Self Paced! Entertaining “Live” classroom setting with Minnesota Licensed Instructors Minimal reading for students Free Study Guide to all students Closed Captioning options “Hands On” activities to reinforce information and get parents involved 24/7 Instructor Support Students have 6 months to complete the online classroom program Made specifically for MINNESOTA STUDENTS by Minnesota Driving Instructors! Our program is fully approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. This is a great option for busy teens who struggle with fitting in an in-person driver’s education class. Students can attend up to three hours per day and must complete the 30 hour course just like an in-person class. Student must have access to a computer and internet. There is a $20 technology fee charged when you create your log-in for the class (on top of the registration fee).

Pequot Lakes Community Education offers year-round tutoring for students who need homework help or support building their academic skills. Tutoring can help students build confidence, motivation, knowledge, achievement, and excellence. Our program strives to support students' understanding of core subject areas, as well as improve on study habits. This private tutoring will accommodate individual learning styles, create a supportive learning environment, and move at your child's pace. The one-on-one attention will keep your child excited about learning! Tutors use a variety of learning strategies that boost each child's potential to succeed. Each tutor has a passion for learning and a deep understanding of how to build trust in a one-on-one relationship. Tutoring is scheduled based on the needs of the child and the availability of the parent/child and tutor. All tutoring takes place within district buildings. Each tutoring session is 60 minutes in length. Tutoring can be purchased in a variety of sessions, ranging from 1 time to 4 times. There is no limit on how many times a student can register. Upon registration, your child will be paired with a tutor. The tutor will be given your information to set up the tutoring days and times. If a child needs to miss a scheduled session, the tutor must be notified in advance so the session can be rescheduled.

Pony Pals (Ages 5 & Up) Come and play with horses! This is a fun equine experience for an adult and child to enjoy together. Each pair will learn how to catch, halter, groom and saddle their horse. Then, the adult will lead the horse as we take a ride through the wildflower trail and over a few obstacles in the arena. We’ll be taking photos to send to each pair so you just enjoy the experience! This will take place rain or shine! Helmets are provided.

Rainbow Pendant Making Class (Grades 3 - 6) Brighten your day with a burst of color! In this fun, hands-on class, participants will design and create their own rainbow-themed pendant using wire, thread and other materials. You will be guided step-by-step through the entire design process so you will leave with a unique, wearable piece of art. All materials included.

SY25-26 Indoor Walking Use the Pequot Lakes Public High School facility and get some exercise! Our climate controlled facilities are a great option for walking/running, regardless of the weather or temperature. Both our halls and walking track are available to the public. Walking is available M-F, both before and after school, except on building closed days. Due to increased security measures at school, our morning hall walkers will need a background check and an access fob to enter the building. The fee for this background check is built into the registration cost for walking our facilities. The door access fob will be given out after successful completion of a background check, which will be emailed to participants after registering. Below are the locations and times available for walking: Pequot Lakes High School Halls: M - F | 6:00 - 7:30 AM AND 3:30 - 9:00 PM Pequot Lakes High School Indoor Track: 5:30 - 9:00 PM - *Please note, when JV/Varsity events are held in the gymnasium you must purchase a ticket to the event in order to use the track. Morning Hall Walking fee: $25 * Requires a fob for building access and a background check. Please register through Community Education prior to attending. In the afternoon, please enter the building through door # 4.
