MOSAIC TRAY (Ages 16 & Up)
Design and create a beautiful 12-inch wooden mosaic tray in this fun, hands-on class! Using colorful glass, tile, beads, and decorative pieces, you’ll learn basic mosaic techniques while creating a functional work of art. Arrange your own unique patterns and styles to make a lovely floral or mandala tray perfect for serving, decorating, or gifting. All supplies included for the project. Participants should bring a bag lunch & something to drink.

Kathy Sanders has had a lifelong interest in the arts and started painting by attending rosemaling classes over 35 years ago. This interest evolved through acrylics and ‘tole’ painting techniques and has now come full circle back to oils. She achieved her certification as a Teacher of Decorative Art (TDA) and has been teaching classes in oil and acrylics for the past twenty plus years. Most recently, she is creating unique handmade artisan glass beads used in jewelry and on her gourd art.
Kathy states: “I find ‘flameworking’ as enthralling as it is challenging. Molten glass is an unforgiving medium and yet, I’m drawn to its beauty. The limited time to shape the glass requires precision and urgency. With the coveted techniques I have learned, I am honing my skills with this enigmatic material. My current work is an intensive explosion of colors and reflects my desire to experiment and explore ideas. And yeah . . . I get to play with fire!”
